You need to make a new .aspx page in visual studio. Copy and paste only the html code from the template into your .aspx page. Be sure to replace only the html code. Your directives (line 1) need to stay the same. The .Net framework renders pages in html, so any html code will work in an aspx page. I am using an html template on my site also.
